Thanksgiving On The Mayflower
Thanksgiving means so many different things to so many different people; spending time with loved ones, watching football games on the television, the Macy's parade, and a huge feast with turkey and all the trimmings.
Thanks to Select Van and Storage guests of the Stephen Center shelter were able to experience some of these things. For the second straight year Select Van has partnered up with the Stephen Center to offer up Thanksgiving on the Mayflower.
Guests of the shelter were able to sit back and relax in the comforts of a Mayflower moving van and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with all the sides and deserts courtesy of Select Van. Select Van provided a couch and flat screen TV so everyone could enjoy the parade as well as the traditional football games.
The turkey dinner also helped kick off the Stephen Centers Stuff the SAM for the holiday season campaign. Everyone with donations of food or clothing were welcome to come down and fill the SAM storage container provided by Select.
Stephen Center, Inc. has served the homeless and low income men, and women and children in Omaha since 1984. Stephen Center is the only "dry" emergency shelter in Omaha focusing on assisting those who have made a commitment to overcome the life destroying effects of drugs and alcohol.
