Select Van Sponsors Omaha Komen Race For The Cure
Select Van and Storage, Omaha, NE, proudly turned their Mayflower green to pink as they participated as an active sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, one of the largest fundraisers for breast cancer nation wide.
In an effort to join the community in supporting the fight against breast cancer, owner Wink Smith contacted the Nebraska affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation to see what they could do to help.
"We feel it is important to give back to the community, and the Race for the Cure was a great place to start," said Smith. "We look forward to partnering with Komen Race for the Cure for years to come!"
Starting with a pledge to donate 50% of rental fees from Select Van's new Pink Totes plastic storage containers, Select Van's involvement in the race grew significantly as they saw an even greater need for help.
In addition to their financial donation, the team from Select Van opened their warehouse as the pick-up point for participants race packets, t-shirts, and timing chips. For two weeks, the Select Van staff helped the more than 16,000 runners and walkers get ready for the big day. Select Van Employees helped participants carry their gear to their cars, and Smith provided lunch for all the Komen volunteers.
